Therapies & Services
Our adolescent residential program offers a holistic healing experience, combining mindfulness practices with the latest evidence-based solutions. Each person who comes to us to heal from a substance use disorder and co-occurring behavioral health concern receives an individualized care plan that is developed based on their unique needs and goals.
This program is typically a 30-day stay. However, the exact length depends on the client’s individual progress, and extended care is available for those who may need it.
During their stay, clients may benefit from medically supervised detoxification services, medication management, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. We also have a physician, physician assistant (PA), and nursing staff on hand to provide medical care if needed. Other therapies and services young people may benefit from include:

What Happens During a Typical Day?
Your child might feel nervous about their first days in the residential program at Huntington Creek Recovery Center, and that is expected and completely understandable. The kind and empathetic staff members at our residential facility in Shickshinny, Pennsylvania, will do their utmost to help your child feel welcome as they embark on their recovery journey. Here is what a typical day in the program looks like:
- Hot breakfast is served from 8-9 a.m. on weekdays and 9-10 a.m. on weekends.
- After breakfast, clients break off into core clinical groups, during which your child will work on their clinical projects according to their individual treatment plan.
- Your child will participate in various holistic or experiential activities throughout the week that focus on improving life skills and self-esteem, working as a team member, making healthy choices, and learning to experience happiness and fun without substances.
- Lunch is provided at noon, during which they can choose from a variety of healthy food options. Our team can make special food accommodations based on each person’s stated dietary, cultural, or religious needs.
- Your child will have some brief time in their room after lunch.
- They will resume their clinical and experiential programming at 1 p.m.
